Hi!
I really love this painting, it is brilliant. I admire all painters as I find it quite a difficult medium to use.
The tree and the moon are probably the best parts of the artwork, and that's a good thing as it draws your attention to the correct spots. The ground below is also very well done.
I like the sketchy strokes you have made with the brush and the variant of colours gives the eye something else to look at and makes the painting unique.
My only criticism would be to perhaps make the jump from dark to light a bit more gradual, so that it doesn't suddenly change.
Overall, lovely painting and I hope to see more from you!
Hope this helps!

I really like this painting, it really stands out and looks great! The moon especially looks great! I really like how you did the horizon of this piece too! The tree looks great too! I would like to suggest adding more shades of grays, blacks, and white to this piece to add more definition and detail on this piece, however. Also, I would suggest trying to make the pink/purple stand out a BIT less, the painting looks good, it just looks out of place the way you did it. Other than that, it's a great painting and it stands out amazingly! Excellent artwork, one of the best paintings I've seen on Deviant Art so far!

Hi, I'm from ProjectComment!

First off, The piece is really captivating, I love how the dark hues interact with one another, creating a cool yet mysterious aura. The purple-pink strokes are able to pop out a bit more than the other colors. The moon is very natural-looking compared to the other objects in the painting. The tree has very bold branches and the ground has smooth strokes, almost as if the ground was cared for by some who is familiar with some agriculture. The strokes kind of resemble the strokes done in painters from the 20th century along with a dash of Van Gogh. I wish I knew proper "painter" words to say since I feel that what I'm saying isn't enough to express my admiration for you and this piece.

Just a few pointers I want to add. To start, I think you may have gotten this a bit but try to smoothen the strokes since the colors seem to jump back and forth suddenly. Usually blending the colors make a smooth transitions. (If it helps, do people like cakes that look smooth or with lots of peaks and bumps?) Usually a quick fix is to use solvent. I wish I could help, but I don't know if you painted it over a canvas or a special type of paper. As far as I know, if you want to do it under a budget and you used a canvas, usually baby oil helps (with cheap paper, use rubbing alcohol. you can experiment if you want to.) If you want a more luxurious look, some special nonscented solvent helps. (You can get it at a local art store). Youtube is nice to give blending tutorials. :)

Second, the brown color should be closer to the moon since lighter colors are closer to objects that create light (I'm assuming there's moonlight there.) Add more brown to the right of the moon and black to the end, you'll see a difference. Looking at references before doing the artwork helps you learn how the lighting works. Don't sweat it though! Lots of artists have this issue, even the pros! That's how we ll learn.

Overall, it's a very calming look and I hope you continue to work on your paintings. Learn to experiment with what other mediums you can put besides painting (from artists on Youtube that I like are this one. It's with colored pencils, but the concept is the same: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hS9r4z…).

Hope this helps and happy painting~! Cheers~! :)
